Salary Range $120,000 - $150,000 per annum + daily travel allowance

As a permanent full-time Geotechnical Site Supervisor at NAVIQ, you will play a crucial role in the success of our projects situated across Australia.
Main tasks:
Site Management
· Oversee and manage geotechnical drilling operations at various project sites.
· Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
· Coordinate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
Team Leadership and Mentorship:
· Lead and supervise the drilling team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project schedules.
· Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment that promotes professional growth and development.
Safety Compliance:
· Prioritise safety as the topmost value during all drilling operations.
· Ensure strict adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
· Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Geotechnical Techniques:
· Utilise expertise in geotechnical drilling techniques, including top hammer and down-the-hole (DTH) drilling.
· Oversee the implementation of slope stabilisation and geohazard remediation techniques, such as Soil Nails, Shotcrete, Capping Beams, Micro Pile, Rock Bolt, and Rockfall Netting & Barrier installation.
Problem-Solving:
· Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to overcome drilling challenges encountered during slope stabilisation and geohazard remediation projects.
· Identify potential issues and propose solutions to ensure project continuity.
Equipment Maintenance:
· Oversee the maintenance and inspections of drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
· Coordinate repairs or replacements as required to minimise downtime and delays
Data Reporting:
· Record and maintain accurate data and logs related to drilling activities, equipment usage, and project progress.
· Prepare reports as required by project managers and stakeholders.
Essential experience required:
· Minimum 2 Years of Geotechnical Site Management Experience: You have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience successfully running geotechnical projects. You possess a deep understanding of project planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring projects are completed on time, and to the highest quality standards.
· Advanced Geotechnical Drilling Techniques: You have extensive knowledge and minimum 2 years’ experience in advanced geotechnical drilling techniques, including Down-The-Hole (DTH) drilling and top hammer drilling. Your expertise in operating various drilling equipment, such as Marini/Wagon drills, showcases your ability to handle complex drilling tasks with precision.
· Your experience includes slope stabilisation and geohazard remediation techniques such as Soil Nails, Shotcrete, Capping Beams, Micro Pile, Rock Bolt, Rockfall Netting & Barrier installation.
· Leadership and Supervisory Skills: You have proven experience leading and supervising geotechnical teams, ensuring optimal performance, safety compliance, and efficient project delivery. You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
· Geotechnical Expertise: Your comprehensive knowledge of geotechnical principles, methodologies, and techniques sets you apart. You are proficient in various geotechnical activities, including slope stabilisation, rockfall barrier installation and soil nailing.
· Safety-Focused Mindset: Safety is your top priority. You maintain a proactive approach to safety management, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and protocols to create a secure working environment for your team.
· Problem-Solving Aptitude: You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify and address challenges that arise during geotechnical projects. Your ability to think critically and make informed decisions contributes to successful project outcomes.
· Flexibility and Travel: You thrive in dynamic environments and are willing to travel to different project sites across Australia. Your adaptability enables you to excel in diverse terrains, climates, and project requirements.
Qualifications essential:
o Rope Access L3 certified.
o Working safety at Heights
o First Aid/CPR
Qualifications desirable:
o High Risk Work licences: FL, C6, DG, RB – desirable
o Plant operator tickets: Excavator, telehandler, skid steer, loader – desirable
